Friends of the Agawam Public Library :  6th Open Juried Art Show at the Agawam Public Library

Show Dates:  November 3 – 28, 2014  Start of two week drop off of art:  Begins Sat. Oct. 18, 2014 and continues any day during library hours (Mon-Thu 9-9, Fri 10-6, Sat 10-5) and on Sat. Nov. 1, 2014 from 10-1 Last Day to Enter & Last Day to Drop off art at Library:  Sat. Nov. 1, 2014 from10am-1pm

  •  Judging:  Sat. 2pm, Nov. 1, 2014 Closed to public
  • Pick up art not accepted in the Show:  Nov. 3-5, 2014 Mon. 10-9, Tue. 10-9, Wed. 10-9
  • Reception & Awards:  Fri. 7pm – 9pm, Nov. 14, 2014

  •  Fees:  Early-bird registration fee $25 per entry, if mail entry form & check by Sat. Oct. 18, 2014; otherwise, $30 after Oct. 18
  • Entry:  Multiple Entries per Category Allowed of original art only.  Fee applies to each entry.
  • Five Categories:  Acrylics, Oils, Watercolors, Pastels, Other Media (pencil drawing, charcoals, pen and inks, block prints, collage, encaustics)
  • 90% Category rule:  90% in one medium to be considered in that category

 Awards:  Total $1,250 – Best in Show ($250) and 1st ($100), 2nd ($60), 3rd ($40) in each Category plus Honorable Mentions for a total of 26 awards.  On the night of the Reception the Artists will be given an opportunity to choose an Artist’s Choice Award, thus, making the 27th award. A category must have five or more submitted and accepted entries to qualify for awards.  Friends of the Agawam Public Library reserves the right to eliminate a category, if there are not at least five entries submitted and accepted.  Art entry fee will be refunded.

Portraits: The National Portrait Gallery has issued a call for entries for The Outwin Boochever Portrait Competition 2016

The work entered should be understood as a portrait in the broadest sense. It may be a traditional, representational work or it may be a more experimental or conceptual portrait, but it must be based on the artist’s direct contact with any living individual(s). Self-portraits will be accepted. The Brookline Arts Center (BAC) invites student jewelry and metalsmithing artists to submit work that demonstrates the relationship between heritage and innovation. IMPACT will be held onsite in conjunction with the 2015 Society of North American Goldsmiths (SNAG) Conference May 20-23, 2015.

 Eligibility: All students, whether part time or full time, under the direction of faculty in any North American degree/diploma/certificate-granting institution are welcome to apply.
