Hertan’s Holiday Arts & Crafts Festival In Brimfield

Deadline of September 4, 2014 Centrally located in world famous Brimfield, Massachusetts, this fall festival will celebrate the creative talents of approximately 150 artists, artisans and crafters. Enjoy the tent covered or open air exhibits from 9 AM to 5 PM Saturday, October 4th and 10 AM to 4 PM Sunday October 5th 2014 (Rain dates are October 11 & 12, 2014). With a low admission fee of $5 and free parking! Food and refreshments are also available. Plein air painting competition  7th Annual Easthampton Paint Out

An estimated 50-60 painters from across the state and beyond will descend upon Easthampton to paint “en plein air”, outside, within the city limits of Easthampton between September 6-13. Angels In The Casa Presents… “Wings Inspired To Fly”

Quest for the Best: The annual Smithsonian Craft Show 

Electronic applications: By September 14, 2014 The annual Smithsonian Craft Show is a juried exhibition and sale of contemporary American crafts and design. Three jurors who are experts in the field and newly selected each year choose 121 artists from a large pool of applicants. Previous exhibitors must re-apply each year. No one is grandfathered into the show. There is no quota for emerging artists or for any category of Craft Art. Artists are selected on the basis of the originality, artistic conception, and quality of their work. The show is produced by the Smithsonian Women’s Committee. Proceeds from the Show fund grants that benefit the Smithsonian’s education, outreach, and research programs. The Show does not charge sales commissions. However, accepted artists are encouraged to donate an item for the Craft Show’s on-line auction, raffle, or other fund-raising initiatives, proceeds of which benefit the Smithsonian. APPLICATION DEADLINES AND FEES:

  • The non-refundable fee for applying is $50. NOTICE: The application fee is due at the time you fill out the online application and accept the terms and conditions.

Vermont, Saint Michael’s College

Seeking video art (no films please) for public display at Saint Michael’s College in Vermont. Please submit vimeo, youtube or personal website links or send hard copies to the address below as high definition H.264/MPEG-­‐4 on a dvd or flash memory stick. Work submitted as links are required to send hard copies if selected. Any length work will be considered. No submission fee required, but hard copies of works will not be returned. Review of submissions will happen quarterly but are accepted on an ongoing basis. Selected videos will be displayed either individually or as a curated group (depending on length and content). Works will be displayed for one month during the academic year on a 47″ HD flat screen TV located in the Saint Edmund’s Hall Lounge.
