The Art Wall is a yearly outdoor public art installation on view on the lawn of the QVCAH in Southbridge, MA. Artists from the communities supported by the QVCAH each create a panel that once assembled, becomes a wall of artwork (see list of eligible communities below).
This year’s Art Wall will be assembled in August. As each artist completes their panel, their work will be mounted to create a contiguous wall of art along the Main Street lawn of QVCAH. This placement offers excellent visibility for artists as thousands of viewers pass by the location each day.
The installation will be on view 24/7 at 111 Main Street in Southbridge through August.
The panels for the Art Wall are 8′ x 4′ plywood sheets, mounted vertically. The art must be able to withstand the weather, as it will be displayed outside continuously for a month. The QVCAH can provide the first panel for each participating artist. Artists that would like to create additional works of art, may do so – but please contact us to discuss what space we have available. Artwork is not limited to 2d paintings. In the past, we have had panels with cutouts, and built up with 3d layers of wood – as long as it can be mounted on the back to framing (usually with screws through the edges) it can be part of the Art Wall. Artists, please be imaginative!
If you are an artist that would be interested in this project – please contact the QVCAH Arts Center as soon as possible. – contact information can be found on our website call for art page.
Eligible communities represented by the Arts Center:
- East Brookfield
- East Douglas
- North Brookfield
- West Brookfield
- North Grosvenordale
