January 2012 Artist of the Month

Brian Hale, Photographer

I have been a photographer mostly working in Western Massachusetts since 1998. I specialize in landscape and wedding photography. To find subjects for my landscapes, I ‘head out on adventures across New England, letting the road take me where it will – usually to waterfalls, fantastic natural sculptures and wide open spaces. I have also shot in Italy (which led to the creation of my book, “Italy in Photos”), as well as during a three-month U.S. cross country adventure and in Costa Rica. In my full-time wedding and portrait photography business, HaleChannel Photography, I seek to capture candid, special moments and memorable portraits.

I live in West Springfield with my wife, Kristin and our 5-month-old daughter, Cleo (the subject of many adorable portraits). This year I plan to take pictures around the Mediterranean for another photography book and in the spring I am taking a sculpture welding class at Snow Farm in Williamsburg.
