As long as I can remember, I’ve always loved to draw and make art. After graduating from high school I was excited by the idea that I could actually major in what was always my hobby. Upon graduating from Amherst College with a fine arts degree in the midst of a recession, finding a job in a creativ
e field proved to be quite challenging. Thus began my five year serendipitous career in the insurance industry. Yikes! However following a contentious meeting in 1997 with my then-boss, it was finally clear to me, that I needed to find a profession where I HAD to create. That began my 10 year commitment to teaching art in the Quabbin Regional School District. Despite my earlier formal education in art, I believe it was my years teaching that taught me the most about art. My students and colleagues never ceased to amaze me with their talent and insight. I was constantly inspired.
In June 2008, with the support of my husband, Dan, I once again decided to embark on yet another journey and resigned from teaching to pursue my own artistic endeavors.
